I have a blog at Blogger, I want a free RSS feed. [http://freerssfreerss.blogspot.com/]
I'm surprised I remembered the username and passphrase to this blog, but if you come across here, this is merely a historic artifact, and will eventually collapse from digital rot.
RADIOHEAD's In Rainbows is available for download. You are offered to name your own price, from nothing up to what you find reasonable.
It is a fresh, inspiring release for what has seemed to be a very long drought for popular music. (I have the latest Talib Kweli, Aesop Rock and The Orb Sessions II albums coming in the mail, so the potential for a flood of great music excites me.)
Don't let the band's popularity prevent you from enjoying their rare artistic prowess. From Weird Fishes/Arpeggi:
I'd be crazy not to follow
Follow where you lead
Your eyes
They turn me...
I follow to the edge
of the earth
And fall off
I just want to post a solution to a problem I had. I hadn't worked on my invoicing system for some time (really over 8 months!), and had to troubleshoot why the mail wasn't sending.
• At first I thought my ActionMailer was screwy, so I reinstalled it. No change.
• I read through the configuration at <config/environment.rb>, noticed I was using sendmail.
• Ran a few tests, noticed sendmail wasn't working. Found mailq, saw that all my mail was queued!
• Went to the log at </var/log/mail.log>, noticed that sendmail wasn't running! Duh, started a sendmail process.
• Sent some more tests, didn't send! Went to the log, all timeouts.
• After more tests and forums, based on suggestions by participants in the forums which I read, came to conclusion that the ISP was blocking the port.
So, I'd have to use an SMTP server. Hmm, Gmail sounded right. After very little searching, I found How to use GMail SMTP server to send emails in Rails ActionMailer. Worked like a charm, and the code if fun to look over.
Whew! There went a day.
I opened up a Myspace page. Just try and find me.
Well, I'm a Java developer with ProteomeCommons.org, and we're currently working on a better site and GUI overhaul.
Life's slow, the way summer should be. Each day rolls gently on the sholders of the previous.
After two meager sessions, I destroyed my first soldering iron. Here's a picture of the destroyed solder iron, just to show I'm a good sport and am willing to learn. It's replacement is on the way.
